How to de-clutter and organise your home

How to de-clutter and organise your home

Are you sick of treading over your possessions whilst travelling to and from rooms? Never feel like there is enough space to put your things?

Whether you are looing to sell your property or just wanting to maximise the living space available in your existing home, there are many things you can do to declutter and organise your property to ensure it offers the best living potential.

Here are several great tips that you can you to really make the most of every inch of space available to you in your home!

Utilise Cupboard Space

Remember when you purchased your house and you were super impressed by all the cupboard space your property offered? Many people tend to forget about the importance of those spaces once they’ve settled into living in their property for a number of months or years. These cupboards become untidy and can no longer offer the same storage potential.

Spend some time removing everything from your cupboards and sorting out what you need and what you don’t. You’d be surprised as to how much extra space you’ll have once you’ve removed all the unwanted items.

Be sure to put the stuff back into the cupboards in an orderly fashion. A great way to maximise the space is by putting in the larger square shaped items towards the back and working the smaller stuff into the spaces that remain. This way you can use the square shaped items to put other stuff on top of without risk of anything falling over or breaking.

Buy Storage Trays/Boxes

Storage boxes are a fantastic addition to any home and can really help keep your home clutter-free and organised. Flat plastic boxes are a perfect way to keep clothes folded and tidy, whilst still being able to access them easily by slipping them under your bed or any existing wardrobe units where possible.

Storage trays are a must-have especially for desk areas where paper is concerned. Using tiered trays are a great way to keep paper work tidy and organised without risk of it falling down the back of your desk or blowing away from an incoming breeze.

The key to de-cluttering

The trick to reducing clutter from your property is simple. Put things in places of storage. It really is as simple as that. When you stop think of your home as one big storage place where things get left around in all sorts of different place, and start utilising storage boxes, wardrobes, drawers and cupboard, you will very quickly begin to see the improvement in your home.

You’d be surprised with how much more spacious your property will feel when it is de-cluttered and organised!
